Laser Cavity Detection (DIAGNODENT)

Among the newest technologies used in Dr. Strauss’s office is the Diagnodent, a small laser instrument which scans your teeth with harmless laser light searching for hidden decay. Finding decay from the inside out is now possible before it destroys the tooth. X-rays and probing are a useful and traditional way for locating decay, however these methods of diagnosis have their limits in detecting certain types of decay or when the cavity is in its early stages.
